We all reach a point where we want a change in our home but don’t want to break the bank. The good news is you don’t need to tear down walls or rip up carpets to make your space feel new. A great solution is switching out your hardware. Before you underestimate the power of a subtle change, we are walking you through this simple renovation!

Brand New vs. Upgraded

Of course, you can always buy a brand-new piece of furniture and call it a day. Sometimes you can’t be bothered to take on another project, but if you’re not looking to spend a lot or don’t want to part with a piece just yet, replacing the hardware is a great idea. Keep in mind this is also an easy solution when thrifting furniture. Maybe you’ve fallen in love with a piece, but it needs something extra to bring it to life. Before you dive into the tedious process of sanding, priming, or painting, try this out.

Picking the Right Piece

The beauty of changing your hardware is that there’s a wide variety of styles and finishes. First, we recommend scrolling Pinterest for some inspiration! There are a lot of great resources with links to the exact hardware used. Next, decide what kind of finish you want. Brass? Matte? Nickel? You could even go for a mixture of finishes! Finally, plan out where you’re using knobs vs. pulls. Remember, just because something looks pleasing to the eye doesn’t mean it’s the most functional.
